The Federal Government of the Pakistan has decided two days week day – Two Holiday Week- from 27-September-2011. These decision has been taken by the Federal Government of Punjab due to energy crisis, as the demand in electricity is increasing day by day, especially in hot. But the supply is not at all increasing as demand. So due to large gap in demand and supply the Federal Government of Pakistan has decided two days holidays in a week.
On the other hand Government of Punjab is asked by the Federal Government to revise it earlier decision in this regards. It is requested to Chief Minister of Punjab to decide in favor of 2 days holiday in a week. So that energy can be saved to meet the needs of people, hospitals and proper utilization of available resources. It is also reported that Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif is also considering on this crises issue. As government of the Punjab is fully busy in the stoppage and eradication of Dengue. Let’s see how Chief Minister of Punjab decides.

It regretted me to hear about two holidays a week. It is great national loss. the authorities responsible for the failure to provide electricity to the masses have no right to play against the future of students and country. I strongly condemn this sort of decision. I strongly agree for 2 days a week off. The West incl. europe and America have 2 days off since ages and they are more or less 50-100 years ahead of us. Even if we work 7 days a week we will not catch up. Reason, what they work between 9-5 on one day is equal to our 4 days of work. If you give Saturday fro normal shopping car repair or other things and sunday for complete rest then you will have better productivity level of a person from Monday onwards. Otherwise, you keep on getting tired workers on the start of week.

Yes there must be 2 weekly holidays
Two days holidays is not a big deal. We bankers are very happy with it but it should not be extended to education sector because they already enjoy seven month holidays throughout the year.
